OHIO July 2012

 

This summer we were able to go to Ohio for a week, July 28 until Aug 4th.  Jane was 4 weeks old and this was our first big trip with our three little ones snuggly fit in the back of our Aveo. We do not have air conditioning so we left at 7pm when it finally got cool. We got 30 miles into our 750 miles trip when we had to take a huge detour in the middle of corn fields because of a very bad accident that closed I80. Mack, Molly and Jane did so well on the drive and slept most of the way, we got to Ohio at 11am Saturday, the day of  my mom's 60th surprise birthday party! She didn't know that we were coming and that Katie and Chris were as well. It was such a fun surprise for her and all of us 8 siblings were there with our families to celebrate. We had a great time visiting and spending time with one another as it is so difficult to get all of us together.

We went out to lunch to my grandpa's favorite, the Chinese Buffet! It was fun to go with Uncle Mike who has been living in China and see him talk to the ladies there in Chinese.

It was so fun to be able to visit with Uncle Mike for about a week before he went back to China.

This is Rocky River Park, a place I went to often growing up, It is on the northeast shore of Ohio and Lake Erie, 10 minutes from my house. It is so beautiful and we loved taking the kids here! Mack has been wanting to go to a beach for along time to build a sand castle thanks to watching Curious George!

Uncle Chris is quite the golfer and Mack has been wanting him to take him golfing so he and Aunt Katie got him his very own golf set, he was so so so excited!!
