DENTAL SCHOOL HERE WE COME!!!!!

Devin is on the phone with the head of admissions from Creighton and is being offered a spot to attend their dental school! As you can see he is not sure what to think as it was a big wonderful surprise!!! We had a party for him last night to honor and congratulate the future Dr. Devin Thompson D.D.S. We love you Devin!!! Congratulations!!!!!!

For those of you who don't know Devin has been waiting since December to hear back from the Dental schools he interviewed at last fall and yesterday we were truly blessed as he was accepted into Creighton Dental School!!!! He will do his first year in Pocatello and the next three in Omaha Nebraska. I would like to brag on my husband for a bit. Dental school is very very competative and a long process. He worked so hard in his under grad at BYU-I to get a 3.75 GPA and an 18 on his DAT. He started applying last June for dental schools and he sent out applications to 15 schools. Last October he started receiving offers to go and interview at Florida, Kentucky, Minnesota, Tennesee and Pocatello Idaho. He had long gruling flights and did it in the middle of he last and very tough semester, he had to be there when they said and it was often in the middle of the week. He had great interviews and it is so tough to get an interview as hundreds and sometimes thousands apply to the school where the biggest class is about 120, most around 80. The program where he got accepted was very hard to get into as it is for idaho residence only and about 100 applied. Of those 100 they only interviewed 20 and accept 8 of the 20 so Devin thought he had no chance. But he was offered an interviewed and then told back in December that they had filled the 8 spots. Normally kids don't drop there spots as it is in state tuition which is about half of what you pay at other schools and it is a great program. So we put Creighton out of our minds, sadly. You can only imagine the excitement and greatfullness we are feeling at this time to be able to stay in Idaho for one more year with family and then head off to Omaha. We will have more time to sell our home and enjoy having Mack be around his grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. We know that the Lord is mindful of our needs as we having been praying for this opportunity and we can now tell you all that he has been accepted!!!!
