Vala's Pumpkin Patch

We finally took the kids to Vala's Pumpkin Patch in Gretna Nebraska! We have been wanting to go since we moved here three years ago but wanted to wait until the kids were big enough to really enjoy it so we decided this being our last fall here we better go! We had such a fun day, the kids loved it and it was beautiful fall weather. Vala's is a family owned farm that they turned into this magical place starting in 1980. It has been known to be called the Disneyland of Nebraska and people come from all around to go to Vala's. We will miss not being able to go next year or the years to follow.

They have all kinds of fun things like this for you to take pictures in, this one turned out the best. Molly had fun trying out each animal cut out she saw.

Our little cowboy!

They had all these cute little goats you could pet and feed, Mack was a bit nervous.

Molly however was loving it, a little too much. She squealed when she stuck her hand in to pet them and when the goat got really friendly with her she couldn't resist giving it a nice big kiss!

They have all kinds of attractions like this Pirates Cove that put on shows. I love the tree in this picture it was peak fall time for the colors on the trees and created the perfect atmosphere.

Janer's gives these cute little hugs. We were waiting of our hayride out to the pumpkin patch.

The kids loved the hayride and were amazed, as were we at all the pumpkins! This place has thousands upon thousands of pumpkins.

They take the hayrides with mostly little kids to the fields that have the smaller pumpkins for them to pick.

We were amazed Molly could pick this one up, it was heavy so she couldn't focus on taking a cute picture.

Our cute little pumpkin.

One of my favorite pictures from the day, she would have stayed and played in this field the whole time if we had let her. Her shirt said "cutest pumpkin in the patch" so I had to take this one!

Mack is obsessed with driving, obsessed! He also loves tractors so he was having the time of his life on this bad boy. He was shifting the gears with the shifter and steering his little heart out.

Devin and his girls. He is such a good dad and his girls adore their dad, Molly is definitely a daddy's girl. Devin would make the Homer dummy move and she was terrified! She wouldn't touch him and he would try and put her next to him and she would scream!

They have such great activities here for the kids to do. Mack loved this bike course that he could ride on and these tricycles are awesome! Here he is trying to escape on it out into the rest of the farm, forget the stroller!

This was a HUGE bouncing pumpkin, they call it. It was such a blast! You can see Molly off to the right, she wasn't so sure about it but Mack had a ball.

The duck races was the thing that kept Mack busiest the most. You place the rubber ducks in your gutter and pump the water out to race them down to the other end. His favorite thing to do is play in the water, whether it is inside in the sinks, which I can't stand and am constantly after him for, or it is the hose outside which he is always getting told to stay away from and leave it alone. Maybe he will be a plumber?

The corn pit, filled with yes millions of corn kernels! This is a great shot of Mack in action as he jumps right in.

This was more of Molly's speed, she loved this the best.

Devin thought it would be fun to bury Jane, she does look funny in with all that corn! Notice the random kernel on her face?

That's better huh Jane?!

These family carts were so much fun. The back 2 people did the pedaling and steering, which was sad for Mack cause he wanted to drive so badly. Jane and I sat next to Devin.

Taking a ride down the lane in the family cart, this picture makes me laugh!

Perfect picture ending. Obviously we had a person take this picture and Devin said he never felt so uncomfortable, that made me laugh but it was such a great picture and you have to have this one taken when  you are at Vala's. So I am glad I asked the random stranger and had him do it. We had such a fun day, we needed some good family time and thanks to Devin's fall break we were able to do that.
